The Microfinance Gateway Highlights Savings

Why are savings important? How do MFIs manage them? The Microfinance Gateway explores these critical questions for MFIs in the latest Highlight series.

Three feature articles look at the overall business case for offering savings to poor people, children's savings products in Sri Lanka, and efforts to enhance both supply and demand for savings in Uganda.

Each month, the Microfinance Gateway adds valuable material received from industry participants to our online library of over 6,900 documents. In December 2007, 50 new documents were added to the Microfinance Gateway repository. Each of these publications can be downloaded at no cost from http://www.microfinancegateway.org/.

We list below the latest literature produced on microfinance for your reference. Topics covered this month include: Donor Role, Financial Performance Measurement, Investments in Microfinance, Links with Other Development Fields, Microinsurance, Remittances, Savings and Credit, Sector Overview & Development and Other New literature.
